Introduction
Welcome to Cadence ("we," "our," or "us"). Cadence is an interval timer application designed for breathwork, meditation, HIIT training, and focus sessions, available on Apple iOS devices.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect (and do not collect), how we use it, and your rights as a user — whether you are located in the European Union, California, or anywhere else in the world.
By downloading or using Cadence, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
02
Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
Cadence does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information such as your name, email address, or date of birth. You can use the app entirely anonymously.
2.2 Data Stored Locally on Your Device
Cadence stores the following data directly on your device only. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party:
- Custom interval timer and preset configurations you create
- HIIT workout session data and history
- Breathwork and meditation session data and history
- In-app settings and preferences
This data is stored using Apple's standard on-device storage mechanisms and is protected by your device's security features (e.g., Face ID, passcode).
2.3 Subscription and Purchase Data
Cadence offers a subscription via Apple In-App Purchase. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not receive, store, or process your credit card details or billing information.
We receive only the following limited, anonymized information from Apple to manage your subscription status:
- A non-personally-identifiable subscription receipt or token issued by Apple
- Subscription status (active, expired, trial)
- Purchase date and renewal status
This information does not include your name, Apple ID email address, or payment details.
2.4 Notification Data
If you grant permission for push notifications, Cadence may use notifications to remind you of scheduled sessions or deliver app updates. Notification permission is optional. If granted, Apple assigns a device push token used solely to deliver notifications to your device. This token is not used for advertising or tracking.
2.5 Attribution and Measurement Data (AppsFlyer)
Cadence uses AppsFlyer, a mobile measurement and attribution provider, solely to understand which marketing campaigns — primarily Apple Search Ads — lead to app installs, free-trial starts, and subscription purchases, so we can measure advertising effectiveness. Through the AppsFlyer SDK we collect and share with AppsFlyer:
- A device identifier — Apple's Vendor Identifier (IDFV) and an AppsFlyer-generated install ID. We do not collect Apple's Advertising Identifier (IDFA).
- App install, first-launch, and app-session events
- Conversion events — when a free trial starts, and when a subscription (monthly, annual, or lifetime) is purchased, including the purchase amount, currency, and which plan was chosen
- Limited device and technical information, such as device model, operating-system version, and an approximate country/region derived from your IP address
This data is transmitted to and processed by AppsFlyer Ltd. as our data processor. We use it only to evaluate the performance of our own marketing campaigns; it is not used to build advertising profiles about you, and it is not sold. Cadence does not present an App Tracking Transparency prompt because it does not access the IDFA and does not track you across other companies' apps and websites. AppsFlyer's handling of data is governed by its Services Privacy Policy.
2.6 Information We Do NOT Collect
We explicitly do not collect
- Name, email address, or contact information
- Precise location data or GPS coordinates
- Microphone or camera data
- Health or biometric data from Apple Health / HealthKit
- Apple's Advertising Identifier (IDFA)
- Your activity on other companies' apps or websites (no cross-app tracking)
- The contents of your timers, workouts, or session history — these never leave your device
03
How We Use Your Information
The limited information we handle is used exclusively for the following purposes:
- To verify and manage your subscription status through Apple
- To deliver push notifications if you have opted in
- To store your personal preferences, session history, and custom configurations on your device for your own use
- To measure which marketing campaigns lead to installs, trial starts, and subscriptions, using AppsFlyer (see Section 2.5)
Beyond measuring the performance of our own advertising campaigns as described above, we do not use your information for behavioral profiling or targeted advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles about you.
04
Third-Party Services
4.1 Apple Inc.
Cadence is distributed through the Apple App Store and uses Apple's In-App Purchase framework. Apple's handling of your data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
4.2 AppsFlyer
We use AppsFlyer Ltd. as our mobile measurement and attribution partner, as described in Section 2.5. AppsFlyer processes a device identifier and app-activity events on our behalf to attribute installs, trials, and purchases to our marketing campaigns. AppsFlyer's handling of data is governed by its Services Privacy Policy.
4.3 No Advertising or Cross-App Tracking SDKs
Other than the AppsFlyer measurement SDK described above, Cadence contains no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, Meta Pixel, or any equivalent service, we do not display ads, and we do not use the IDFA for cross-app tracking.
05
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise disclose your personal information to any third parties, except in the following limited circumstances:
- Legal compliance — We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, court order, or governmental authority.
- Protection of rights — We may disclose information to protect the safety, rights, or property of Cadence, its users, or the public.
- Business transfer — If Cadence is acquired, merged, or sold, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the same privacy protections described here.
- Measurement provider — We share the limited device and app-activity data described in Section 2.5 with AppsFlyer Ltd., our attribution and measurement provider, strictly to measure advertising performance. AppsFlyer acts as our data processor and is contractually restricted from using this data for its own purposes.
Aside from the measurement provider described above, we have no other third-party data-sharing arrangements, and we do not sell your personal information.
06
Your Rights Under GDPR (European Union Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, or Switzerland, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent legislation:
Our legal basis for processing limited subscription-related data is the performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), as it is necessary to provide the subscription service you have purchased.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the email address provided in Section 14.
07
Your Rights Under CCPA (California Residents)
If you are a California resident, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA grants you the following rights:
To submit a verifiable consumer request, contact us using the details in Section 14. We will respond within 45 days as required by law.
08
Apple App Store Privacy Compliance
In accordance with Apple's App Store guidelines and App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework:
- Cadence does not use Apple's Advertising Identifier (IDFA) and does not present an App Tracking Transparency prompt, because it does not track you across other companies' apps and websites.
- Cadence does not participate in targeted advertising networks and does not display ads.
- We use the AppsFlyer measurement SDK to attribute installs, trials, and purchases to our own marketing campaigns, as described in Section 2.5.
- All data described in our App Store Privacy Nutrition Label accurately reflects the data practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Our App Store Privacy Nutrition Label declares the data collected for analytics and app functionality — including a device identifier and purchase and app-activity data processed by AppsFlyer for attribution. Please refer to the current label on the App Store listing for the authoritative summary.
09
Children's Privacy
Cadence is not directed at children under the age of 13, or under the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction (16 in many EU member states). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to us, please contact us immediately. We will take prompt steps to delete such information.
10
Data Security
Because nearly all data in Cadence is stored locally on your device, your data is protected by your device's built-in security features, including hardware encryption and biometric authentication.
The limited subscription-related data processed by Apple is handled in accordance with their security standards, which include industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11
Data Retention
Data stored locally on your device (session history, custom configurations, preferences) is retained until you delete the app or clear its data.
Subscription-related data held by Apple is retained in accordance with their data retention policies and applicable legal requirements.
We do not retain personal data on our own servers.
12
International Data Transfers
Cadence does not operate its own servers. However, the AppsFlyer measurement data described in Section 2.5 is transmitted to and processed by AppsFlyer Ltd., which operates infrastructure internationally. Where this involves transfers of personal data from the EU/EEA, UK, or Switzerland, AppsFlyer relies on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Apple may also transfer data internationally in accordance with their privacy policy and applicable legal safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses for EU data transfers). Please refer to Apple's and AppsFlyer's privacy policies for details.
13
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. For significant changes, we will provide prominent in-app notice.
Your continued use of Cadence after any changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
